Electric bicycle classes, age, and access

Texas defines three e-bike classes up to 750 watts. Bicycle rules generally apply; an e-bike may not be prohibited where a non-electric bicycle is allowed, except on natural-surface nonmotorized trails. State/local authorities may restrict sidewalk use and set path speeds. Class 3 operators must be at least 15. No statewide e-bike helmet rule was verified.

Keller

E-bike age, helmet, speed, and equipment rules

The City code sets a 15-mph maximum, requires Class 3 operators to be at least 15, requires helmets for riders under 16, and prohibits headphones. It also sets equipment and lighting duties, misdemeanor penalties up to $200, and impoundment for a third or later violation. Current City code provides the rule; original effective date was not established.
