Wisconsin defines three e-bike classes up to 750 watts and applies bicycle rights and duties. E-bikes are exempt from driver licensing, registration, title, and financial-responsibility requirements. Jefferson County

E-bike use on County bicycle paths

On County bicycle paths, e-bikes are allowed unless posted otherwise. Riders must yield to pedestrians and horses and give an audible or verbal warning before passing. Ordinance 2023-23 was adopted February 13, 2024; the exact effective date was not established.
